About Beaumont
With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. What role you will play in our team
The Laboratory Chemist must maintain high levels of quality control and quality assurance that will certify product quality and promote site efficiency. Assure the quality of the materials used and product made meet specifications. Provide technical support and guidance to site. Responsible / accountable for all laboratory activities performed under their direction. Maintain BPIMS, QP&G, and DIAF requirements relating to data generation. Contribute to meet customer service commitments. Assure compliance to all company programs. Contribute to meet customer service commitments. Maintain laboratory operations.
What you will do
Support the quality of our products through adherence to ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100, VDA, AAR and other in scope quality policies and procedures.- Maintain and calibrate equipment systems to support the testing process.
- Issue Safe Work Permits and oversees permitted activities.
- Performs / oversees OIMS PHRO activities such as, operating air compressors, handling gas cylinders, troubleshooting or working on energized equipment.
- Review test methods for compliance to industry standards.
- Implement changes to the LIMS database testing and specification tables as required.
- Maintain LIMS and data management systems.
- Provide timely and accurate data to optimize site manufacturing and packaging efficiencies.
- Compliance to testing procedures as written and support in procedure development applicable quality initiatives.
- Support Laboratory goals to meet operational excellence.
- Aid in meeting quality objectives established in the QP&G.
- Participates in the Blend Correction Improvement Team.
- Provide guidance on blend adjustments and work-off.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory standards for health, safety and environmental requirements through the compliance to all safety and OIMS programs.
- Organization, storage, and distribution of lab reagents and quality control samples.
- Purchase supplies and maintain inventories.
- Responsible for Laboratory operating expenses.
- Adhere to and Ensure compliance with CIMS (Controls Integrity Management System), including compliance with Data Integrity Assurance Framework through policy communications, procedures, and, as applicable, holding employees and contractors accountable.
- Comply with Global Brand and Product Integrity Management System (BPIMS) standards to 1) Protect product quality 2) Adhere to regulatory requirements 3) Provide accurate product representation and 4) Ensure product performance as formulated.
- Oversee shift contractors and provide technical direction and testing support for shift production.
- Serve as Lead to Lab Technicians
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Education and Experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience in a laboratory, one year in a lead capacity, or a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Pass ExxonMobil hiring requirements.
