Our company is looking for a Laundry Aide to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Follow policies and procedures to follow infection control practices and operate equipment correctly to prevent accidents;
- Maintaining inventory of laundry supplies and linen;
- Distributing personal clothing to residents’ rooms;
- Keeping laundry area clean and in order by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing;
- Sorting and laundering linens; distributing clean linen to linen rooms;
- Operating, cleaning and sanitizing washer and dryer;
- Ensuring that resident’s clothing is properly identified;
- Picks up soiled laundry and delivers clean laundry and personals in a timely manner;
- Performs routine laundry activities including sorting, loading machines, folding linen and laundry, re-supply of carts and delivery of personal linen;
- Helps maintains a clean area, routinely cleans equipment and laundry area.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age;
- Must meet all health requirements;
- Must practice and promote Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Core Values and Founding Principles;
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job;
- One-year related experience in a similar environment with on-the-job training preferred;
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly mentally challanged
- Must pass criminal background check;
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others and local, state and federal laws;
- Ability to follow procedure;
- Experience in a nursing home setting preferred;
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
- Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred;
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products;
- Self-motivated.
