Lead Cook Job at Palmer Public Schools
Must have a working knowledge of food service equipment and of institutional meal preparation. Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions. Must be able to understand basic math. Must have interpersonal and customer service skills.
Must be able to work independently.Required: Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of tasks listed. Preferred: Massachusetts Serve Safe Certified. Experience supervising others preferred. Preferred: Two (2) or more years of previous service as a food service worker.
Massachusetts Serve Safe Certified.Duties to include, but not limited to: 1. Assists training staff in the meal preparation process. 2. Overseas and assists with food preparation.3.
Assist in the general operation of the program (cash register, pots, tables, dishroom, etc.) during the distribution of the food. 4. Assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and the cafeteria.5. Completes a daily production control sheet indicating all items used in food preparation daily along with temperatures of food and equipment.6.
Provides a list of items (spices, staples, etc.) to be ordered by the Director of Food Services. 7. Assists with monthly inventory on the last day of the month. 8.
Utilizes leftovers in the best possible manner. 9. Assists in rolling out new menus, recipes and programs to staff. 10.
Maintains accurate recipes and updates these as necessary. 11. Performs duties of other cafeteria workers as necessary or as assigned by the Director of Food Services.12. Attends C.P.R.
training annually.13. Any other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.The salary for this position is: according to contractAll positions are subject to qualifications, duties and rates of compensation presently in force, and subject to appropriate funding.
