About the Department
The NC State Veterinary Hospital provides tertiary care for a wide variety of animal species and serves as an environment for training veterinary students, specialty training for interns and residents, and conducts clinical research. The Client Services Representatives are the first point of contact for Hospital clients and referring veterinarians and are critical in coordinating the patient’s experience at the Hospital
Essential Job Duties
The Lead Emergency Room Client Services Representative (Lead ER CSR) ensures operation is adhering to service standards for current and potential clients as well as referring veterinarians at the Terry Center Small Animal Hospital Emergency Room. Position will be responsible for creating, updating and maintaining training manuals and will serve as lead ER CSR trainer. Will become subject matter expert and trainer for hospital information systems. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple incoming phone lines is crucial to this position.
Position will be responsible for managing ER CSR schedules and coverage. This position is responsible for communicating the ER Client Services holiday and on call schedules and for arranging for substitute coverage when team members are on leave. Position will conduct audits of patient accounts and work closely with business office, clinicians and referring veterinarians.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
- Previous client service experience in a veterinary or medical setting required.
- Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be organized and have ability to lead effectively.
