Job Summary:
The Lead Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing all aspects of women’s imaging related to mammography and DEXA scanning. The Lead Technologist performs a variety of procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for diagnosis. The Lead Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required. The Lead Technologist also assumes responsibility for quality and reporting requirements.

Essential Qualifications: Must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and remain a member in good standing. Must hold current certification in Mammography through the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and maintain certification. Previous experience with bone density, trauma, ultrasound, and mammography. Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology training program. Current BLS or successful completion of BLS within ninety (90) days of hire. Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology principles of radiation physics and electricity and the related hazards. Knowledge of the variation of anatomical postures (i.e. supine, prone, etc.), psychology, patient care, and sterile techniques, and the ability to relate to patients in all age groups with a variety of medical conditions is required.
