The Lead Dental Patient Service Representative serves as a supervisor for the Dental Patient Services Representative team. This position provides training, instruction and guidance to the Patient Services Representatives while functioning as a Dental Patient Service Representative throughout the day.
Dental Patient Services Representative Duties
- Greet and check in patients in a welcoming manner.
- Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- And, other functions pertaining to patient flow as needed, with an emphasis on team-based care.
Lead Dental Patient Services Representative Duties
Lead, supervise and train the Dental Patient Services Representatives at assigned location to ensure proficient staff performance and daily operations of the Dental Patient Services Team.- Delegate staff assignments to rotating Dental Call Center Representatives to ensure daily tasks are met.
- Ensure the timely submission of accurate staff timecards and approval of time off requests.
- Manage scheduling of staff to ensure proper coverage, rest breaks and lunches.
- Consistently participate in Leadership’s rotation in the Dental Call Center to ensure proper coverage.
Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CDIH Patient Service Representative or similar role.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience running eligibility for Medi-Cal, including knowledge of Medi-Cal and Private Insurance.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience and proficiency using an EHR, preferably EClinicalWorks or similar EHR.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with answering multi-line phones.
- Working knowledge of dental terminology.
- Ability to work at both the Auburn and Grass Valley clinics.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Current and in good standing; CDL, vehicle insurance and DMV printout.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge of EClinicalWorks EHR.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
