Exciting opportunity to join a growing multi-state law firm focused on consumer and commercial debt recovery activities. Seeking a strong candidate looking to perform various legal, administrative and clerical tasks with the operations group. This position will be responsible for working directly within operations gathering, preparing and summarizing relevant materials related to the national affidavit process; reviewing documents and entering information into the firm’s case management system, calendaring events, communicating with other areas within the firm and clients. This position will be responsible for the ordering, tracking, cure of rejections and receipt of affidavits necessary to proceed with judgment activity. Ongoing communications with clients both in writing and verbally will be required. Additionally, the Legal Specialist will assist with other functions within other areas of the operation’s group on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary duties related to the national affidavit process including ordering, follow up, cure of rejections and the receipt and uploading of affidavits received
- Prepare and maintain various legal documents, files and case correspondence
- Provide administrative support for the collection's business
- Serve as a backup for various functions within the department as needed
- Successfully complete special projects and other assignments as requested
- Calendar activities
- Logging/processing collection file activities
- Updating the firm's system of record
- Communicating with clients verbally, in writing and/or via client systems
- Processing documents
- Preparing/mailing out legal documents
- Update and follow with clients both verbally and in writing
- Update procedures related to job function when changes or additions are necessary
Skills or Experience:
- Previous collections experience for a law firm (within operations) preferred
- Affidavit processing experience a plus
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of the firm structure
- Prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in high-volume, fast paced working environment
- Proven ability to work effectively as a group and independently
- Identify and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner
- Provide proposed solutions to issues identified and assist with implementation of the same
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Client Relations experience is preferred
- Deadline and detailed oriented
- Excellent excel skills a must
- JST Experience a plus
- Affidavit preparation, follow up and monitoring experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
