LEGISLATIVE ASSISTANT Job at United States Senate
The Office of Senator Patty Murray seeks a Legislative Assistant to work on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Fisheries issues. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing policy proposals, managing legislative and appropriations priorities, and staffing the senator for matters relating to their issue portfolio. The senator’s staff is highly collaborative and the successful candidate will work in conjunction with policy staff in the personal office and committee as well as communications and state outreach staff. The salary for this position is $85,000.
Applicants should have familiarity with this position’s policy issues and several years’ experience working in a Congressional office; Senate experience is preferred. Competitive candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, an inclination for teamwork and collaboration, and an ability to consistently meet deadlines. This is not an entry-level position.
