This position is a limited term sociology lecturer for the 2022-2023 academic year and is nonrenewable. Candidates should have the ability to offer courses in survey sociology courses as their primary teaching load. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Georgia College & State University core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses. All Georgia College faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. Educational Requirements
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in sociology by the date of appointment, but we will consider exceptional candidates who are ABD (must complete Ph.D. within the first year of appointment). Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))

Required Experience
Teaches load of 15 semester-hours of undergraduate courses each semester in the area of sociology in face-to-face format. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Participates in departmental activities and campus life events.
