Ropers Majeski is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Legal Assistant with great organizational skills and a minimum of two years of litigation experience to join our thriving and dynamic practice in our Los Angeles, CA office.

Founded more than 70 years ago, Ropers Majeski maintains offices throughout California, as well as in Las Vegas, New York, Seattle, and Paris, with an affiliate office in Hong Kong. We conduct a broad, far-reaching practice offering litigation and transactional services to domestic and international businesses and individuals. Qualified candidates will have experience in civil litigation practice and procedure in both the State and Federal courts, and must have experience with the Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego Superior Court Rules. Experience with premises liability and/or personal injury cases is strongly preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will assist with calendaring, filing documents with State and Federal courts, managing attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, depositions, hearing dates, and providing attorneys with ample lead time to ensure all deadlines are met timely. Responsibilities may also include preparing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, summaries, indices for medical records, motions, subpoenas, and trial-related documents, and analyzing medical billing records.

Our ideal candidate has the ability to work on and prioritize a variety of assignments for several attorneys contemporaneously, strong time management and project management skills, including the ability to adhere to strict project deadlines while being flexible in response to changes and delays with attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions; excellent writing and proofreading skills; strong communication and organizational skills; the ability to work independently, efficiently, meet deadlines, and integrate into a fast-paced environment; a proactive approach to any assigned task and eagerness to learn from your peers; and a willingness to work as a team player in our team-oriented environment.

The candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (NetDocuments is a plus). They must have experience with timekeeping and billable tasks; be proficient in technology to support electronic and virtual discovery, motion practice, and trial work. Prior law firm experience is required.

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.
