The Loan Administration team works hand-in-hand with various loan servicing departments to ensure customer accounts are appropriately maintained in the loan servicing system, including working with the G/L Accounting and Treasury departments to ensure cash receipts are disseminated to the proper parties for handling. The department is responsible for processing customer-related, non-recurring loan payments, loan status updates, the approval of customer refunds, account level research, as well as loan servicing system updates as required by various Flagship departments.

Daily tasks and administrative duties will fluctuate based on volume, so a successful candidate will be flexible, able to multitask, open to change, and able to handle frequent email messages/questions throughout the day.

Primary Function

  • Research loan status change notices and process them as appropriate per internal customer instructions.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of customer refund requests to prepare them for payment.
  • Identify, research, and resolve customer account issues and inquiries identified by other departments in a timely manner.
  • Execute loan administrative activities that support Loan Servicing, such as research and manual calculations for verification purposes.
  • Timely processing of all mail inflow and status tracking logs.
  • Accurately calculate account adjustments and understand financial concepts around loan amortization.
  • Ability to utilize Excel to effectuate loan corrections related to recalculating simple interest loan amortization (reamortizing loans for backdating payments).
  • Compile supporting documentation for loan activity to support ad hoc business requests.
  • Ability to identify and communicate process improvements in the role of subject matter expert.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills (including Vlookups, Pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong financial background
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to display high level of personal accountability and ownership for work performed
  • Independently driven and motivated to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Demonstrate the willingness to learn and be challenged by continual professional development.

Education (required/preferred)

Required: college degree or equivalent job experience

Experience (required/preferred)

  • Required: 2+ years of consumer lending experience
  • Preferred: Shaw / Spectrum loan servicing system experience or other consumer lending services software
  • Preferred: Automotive industry experience
