Assistant Logistics Manager's main responsibilities are:
Supervise and oversee the area of responsibility in FSI-warehouse/produce departments, including merchandise and employees in the absence of the manager or General Manager.
Effectively develop, train and coach employees in meeting the department/company standards and safety & security compliance in the proper use of equipment.
Assist and coordinate the department schedule with the manager to maximize the most efficient use of time, labor, and resources. Monitor employee breaks and lunch schedule.
Assign duties to crew members, direct and monitor their activities/productivities to ensure they are efficiently carried out.
Ensure trucks are loaded according to scheduled routes.
Route planning, driver scheduling, truck maintenance
Must be at least 18 years of age with a High school diploma or its equivalent.
Prior supervisory, leadership or management experience required.
Strong knowledge and skills in warehousing and distribution of food and food related products required.
Excellent customer service.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have valid driver’s license, Class B license is plus
Maintain alcohol and drug free status throughout employment
Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
Basic math skills and proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel and Outlook
Flexible schedule, ability to multi-tasks and prioritize.
