The Wisconsin DNR is hiring an LTE – Visitor Services Associate located at our Black River State Forest in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Please Note: There is potential to hire this position as dual LTE appointment. Dual LTE appointments are comprised of two 20-hour positions for an expected work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Position Summary
Please Note: The desired start date for this position will be early to mid March 2023
This position is responsible for greeting park visitors, selling vehicle admission stickers, registering campers, fielding questions about the park or property and recreation opportunities, along with a variety of other administrative and financial duties.
- 55% Greet visitors, collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems.
- 25% Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability.
- 10% Distribute brochures, maps and provide directions/routes of travel throughout the park; inform visitors of potential safety hazards. Due to the fiduciary responsibilities of this position, a background check will be conducted.
- 10% Issue admission receipts in accordance with established guidelines.
Salary Information
$17.00-$18.92 per hour
Job Details
This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. LTE positions do not automatically lead to permanent state employment or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees; however, these positions do offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.
LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours per position within a twelve-month period.
In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.

Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment. - Knowledge and experience working with computers
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
