Job Overview:
Machine Operator Lead

Responsible for operation and monitoring of various manual and/or automated equipment in production process. Replenishes materials as needed and maintains cleanliness of equipment and production area. Inspects production run and documents results. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed. Lead role to other machine operator(s).

Shift & Schedule:
This is a full-time position available 3rd shift, 10:00pm to 6:30am. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.

Position Compensation:
The starting rate of pay for this position is $30.00 per hour. Attractive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid time off, etc.)

Responsibilities
  • OEE- assist line operators and mechanics to maintain the OEE above Std
  • Quality – constant checks on product quality, including date codes, packaging and finished product. Control flavor changes to avoid off spec product. Plan for and execute the reworking of any off-spec product.
  • Safety – constantly aware of any safety issues that arise and report them to mgt. check operators for PPE
  • TPM – do set ups and make minor adjustments to equipment using centerline sheet, assist maintenance with major repairs as needed, ensure cleaning and lubrication are done using CIL cards and sign off on weekly audits.
  • Clean up – hold each operator accountable to keep work area clean, check clean up at end of shift.
  • Materials – keep constant supply of materials for operators, check ahead to be sure there are enough components to run each scheduled item. Interact with warehousing to obtain stock if needed. Keep supervisor informed of any shortages.
  • RRT Meetings- conduct daily meetings with Mechanic, QA tech, operators; to keep RRT board up to date. Using 5why, and analytical tools to derive corrective actions.
  • Lean tools – coach operators and verify use of CIL boards, Centerline Boards, 5S, and standard work.
  • Finished goods- Send pallet tags as needed, double check finished pallets for quantity, quality, and proper labeling
  • Staging- stage all components for next shift to ensure a successful startup.
  • Training – Train new operators on equipment and lean tools- document training status
  • Operations – relieve operators for needed breaks, fill in a position if operator is absent until replacement is found.
  • Leadership – set an example for line operatives in PPE, GMPs, work ethic, respect, and temperament.
  • Record keeping- keep track of all line downtime and enter it on daily production report, along with all other production numbers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
  • 3 years prior experience with operation of high-speed production machinery and monitoring of product quality
  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly
  • Pass a drug test, criminal background, verifiable employment verification
