SIMFLO is currently seeking a hard working and dedicated individual to join our team in Garden City, KS and lead our pump manufacturing team as the Shop Foreman.

More than 70 years after Mr. Simmons opened his first machine shop, SIMFLO now manufactures a variety of different pump models, as well as countless replacement parts and accessories for most brands for the municipal, agricultural, and industrial industries.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accomplishes results by planning, communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing company systems, policies and procedures.
• Completes customer delivery of orders by scheduling and establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and maintaining inventory levels
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards including ISO
• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; imitating and fostering a spirit of cooperation between different departments.
• Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control and personnel requirements; implementing change.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Build a strong team by assigning responsibilities and tasks to department leads, analyzing team member strengths and weaknesses, encouraging growth and learning by periodic reviews, moving team members into positions that they can be most productive and of greatest value , coaching team members on their deficiency by working with HR to discipline up to and including terminations.
• Maintains employee morale by setting an example of acceptable behavior expected by the company.
• Maintain shop organization and cleanliness by assigning weekly tasks to department leads
• Maintain a direct line of communication between production personnel, sales office and supervisor
• Maintain and report on all equipment needs by reporting to maintenance and supervisor
• Set high customer service standards by implementing QC procedures, on time delivery of all equipment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating a Vertical Manual Lathe is preferred
• Previous experience working in a pump manufacturing environment is preferred
• At least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
