Job Summary
This position will provide administrative work at the Capitol Complex’s Central Mail office. The job duties will include processing and sorting incoming and outgoing USPS mail and sorting state inter-office mail. Additionally, this position will process parcels in the eVS system, run reports, and provide shipping research when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
ENGLISH
- Sufficient to communicate effectively with staff
CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILL
- Ability to assist customers in a positive manner
COMPUTER SKILL
- Basic computer knowledge to learn and operate necessary software
- Data entry skills or experience sufficient to input data quickly and accurately
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to transport up to 70 pounds
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, carry, and push/pull
- Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
- Ability to operate electric and manual pallet jacks, mailing machines, and other equipment necessary to perform job functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of requirements for various mailing needs
- Experience with mail processing using a metering machine or the use of a scale to weight and verify the cost of mail
- Knowledge of postal rates and applications
