Job Title: Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time Seasonal Position)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: East Stroudsburg University - University Ridge & Sycamore Suites
Compensation: $15.00 per hour. Position not eligible for benefits
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Term of Employment: May 1, 2023 – September 1, 2023

Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and Assistant Director of Operations, in collaboration with the Maintenance Team, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the preventative maintenance tasks in the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • General cleaning of the grounds.
  • Replacing air filters.
  • Replacing smoke detector and thermostat batteries.
  • Replacing light bulbs.
  • Distributing items to apartments.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Have and willingness to learn general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
  • Possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.


Time Commitment

The Maintenance Assistant can work up to 30 hours per week in part-time work between Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Compensation is $15.00 per hour up to 30 hours per week. Position not eligible for benefits.
