Spokane Galvanizing, Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join our family. Spokane Galvanizing is located in Airway Heights, WA and all interviews will take place at Spokane Galvanizing facility.

Summary: The Maintenance employee will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems. An excellent maintenance mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to carry out essential job functions, included but not limited to:

  • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
  • Conduct safety inspections on assigned vehicles, plant equipment and run diagnostic tests to identify any functionality issues.
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components as required
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
  • Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by department manager
  • Keep logs of work and report on issues
  • Fabricating parts to facilitate various repairs and machine upgrades
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing non-routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantle machinery and remove/replaces defective parts.
  • Determine changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring by use of various instruments.
  • Responsible for proper parts accountability of assigned maintenance tasks
  • Maintains inventory of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Following industry best practices, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines to include reporting any unsafe work practices to management.
  • Work rotating on-call coverage as scheduled

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of machinery to include: hydraulic, electrical, components and other necessary systems.
  • Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
  • Ability to follow established procedures, practices; read and understand instruction, blueprints etc.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Respond quickly and competently in emergencies.
  • Prior welding experience

Work schedule:
Monday – Friday, day shift, rotating on-call schedule, Shifts will vary depending on workload

Background check and Pre-employment drug & Medical screens will be required.

Compensation:

Starts at $24 per hour or DOE
