We are currently seeking a Heavy Industrial Maintenance Technician for our glass fabrication operation located in Columbus, OH. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Responsible for the daily maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance for all production equipment.

· Diagnoses problems, dismantles defective machines and equipment, and installs new or repaired parts, following the specifications set forth in blue prints, manuals, and schematic drawings.

· Troubleshoots problems and repairs electrical and mechanical devices and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Analyzes test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.

· Diagnose CNC equipment and PLC control systems.

· Records repairs and maintenance performed, parts and materials used, and requisitions new parts and materials as necessary.

· Controls downtown by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance.

· Operates cutting torches and welding equipment to fabricate, cut or join metal parts.

· Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as impact drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.

· Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, and/or departmental relations.

· Engages in mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance of electric-power generating equipment, and transmission, distribution, and control equipment of electric power utility.

· Confers with contractors to resolve problems in installation of new equipment, servicing, and repairing equipment and to assist in start of new plants or additions.

· Reviews inspection and repair reports and observes progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.

· Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.

· Communicates with operators from other shifts.

· Resolves problems using working knowledge and solutions that improve operations, and develops recommendations involving new techniques, technologies, or concepts.

· Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Minimum Skills and Requirements:
· Experience in a production or manufacturing environment; Glass industry is preferred (not required).

· Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.

· Must be able to push weights greater than 150lbs with a team.

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

· Must be able to read a tape measure.

· Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Branch Manager.

· Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region in a non-climate controlled facility (Heat, Cold, humidity).

· Must be able to wear company-issued hard hat, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection.

· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direct supervision.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

· Must be able to work overtime with flexible starting times in some departments.

· Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
Education/Experience:
· HS Diploma/GED Preferred.

· Previous experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
