Job Summary
BASIC SUMMARY:
Perform assigned duties and assists in providing mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and other trade skills to meet the needs of the physical plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled on facility equipment.
- Perform physical plant repairs in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, etc.
- Replace belts, pulleys, motors, bearings, etc.
- Dismantle and relocates equipment.
- Perform exterior building and grounds maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be available to respond to facility emergencies on an as-needed basis, in accordance with the Company's On-Call Policy.
The pay range for this position is $18 and $24 an hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location
Job Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 3-5 years experience in the trades field strongly preferred. Electrical maintenance experience strongly preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Driver's License
- Other: Must have knowledge of general trade skills and a specialized ability in one area (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc); the ability to organize work load to effectively accomplish tasks in a timely manner; the ability to work effectively alone and with other; and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Valid Driver's License needed. Must have basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach overhead, as well as crouch and kneel. Also required is the ability to push and pull objects, the repetitive use of hands and feet and the ability to work with equipment and machinery. Occasional requirement to lift/carry 50 lbs, balance, and drive Company vehicles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Various working conditions; noise level will vary. Work environment is inside and outside of buildings, causing exposure to the elements. Occasional exposure to dust, gas, and fumes.
