Job Summary

Under general supervision, with a high level of autonomy, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through training and experience to assist in developing and implementing Finance data governance policies and processes impacting accounting systems and applications. Lead accounting/financial systems implementation projects and establishes requirements to meet the information and process needs of the organization effecting multiple business units. Leads project teams or manage multiple large, high priority and complex initiatives with significant financial impact on the company. Oversees and directs business process improvements through data governance framework, policy, and standards. Manage Finance business process transformations and change on a large scale. Performs and manages varied work requiring evaluation, originality, and ingenuity. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads project teams for managing multiple large, high priority and complex initiatives with significant impact on business processes
  • Provides input into strategic roadmaps for data governance impacting accounting systems and applications
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and Information Technology department
  • Develop control structures within finance department to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels
  • Generates project proposals for managerial review, implements approved plans, document, trains users and support the implemented data framework, system and business process changes
  • Leads requirements gathering, project plan preparation, user acceptance testing, documentation, and implementation of system changes to support the new data governance policies & procedures
  • Develop appropriate execution approach for projects involving data flows and processes across all Finance applications
  • Ensure controls are in place over applications for data quality by performing data integrity gap analysis
  • Responsible for management of third-party vendors and their contributions to the projects
  • Consults with the Accounting and Financial Reporting business area management team to identify opportunities for business process improvements and initiates enhancements, where feasible, throughout supported areas within the firm
  • Serve a dual role as the point of contact for both business users and technical staff to discuss and clarify the interpretation of business requirements to technical specifications
  • Coordinates/Manages the testing of patches, fixes and upgrades to business systems via the standard testing path of Development, QA and Production
  • Partners with technical business units in the research, analysis and resolution of system and process problems
  • Responsible for facilitating prioritization of application features and functionality and process change for a given platform or business unit
  • Coach and train junior associates and interns with the focus on developing the entire team overall
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
  • Accounting / Finance knowledge required
  • Financial services experience required
  • People management experience required
  • Data quality, data governance/management or similar level data analysis experience required
  • PeopleSoft, Hyperion, OneStream or other major Corporate Performance Management/Enterprise Performance Management systems experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with technical or business specification and a minimum of six (6) years’ experience including any combination of the following: systems administration, technical customer support, application administration, software development, project management, technical consulting, software upgrade/implementation, technical analysis, general finance or accounting

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources


Licenses/Certifications
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Data Certification preferred
