Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Manager of Equity Plans and Accounting for our Fort Worth office.

Reporting to the CAO, the Manager of Equity Plans and Accounting is responsible for administration and record keeping of Higginbotham’s equity plans, including its direct ownership plan for over 1000 shareholders and its profit Interest Units (PIU) plans for its employee base of 2000 employees, as well as GAAP accounting.

• The essential tasks of the Manager of Equity Plans and Accounting include:
  • Maintain and reconcile Cap table for direct ownership stock plan.
  • Administration of PIU plan, including calculations for awards, grant issuance and record keeping.
  • Responsible for Higginbotham equity related accounting including stock-based comp expense, equity related footnote disclosures, technical accounting memos, audit support.
  • Coordinate and reconcile with all equity databases with outside Legal Counsel and Tax Firm as well as internal databases.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR and M&A teams on equity related items as needed.
  • Liaison and administration of third-party vendors, including Strata
  • Prepare reports for internal partners and respond to ad hoc data requests.
  • Coordination and execution of buy/sell arrangements for current and former employee shareholders
  • Assist with development and delivery of employee trainings and communications.
  • Responsible for tracking 83b information and reporting requirements.

• Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar discipline required
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of previous experience with equity plans required
• Certification/Licenses:
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
