Primary Objective

Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Produce/Floral member, the Produce/Floral Clerk promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of Produce/Floral products. The Produce/Floral Clerk adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Produce/Floral Clerk is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling and promoting sales events.

 Basic product handling skills

 Assists with product preparation, packaging, presentation, rotation, replenishment

 Ensures in-stock position of available product

 Maintains high cleanliness standards – clean as you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping

 Working knowledge of all Produce/Floral equipment

 Demonstrates high level of operational execution

 Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency

 Working knowledge of Produce/Floral legal, safety, and sanitation SOP’s

 Consistent execution of all Produce/Floral SOP’s

3. Performance Focus – Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.

 Accomplished SELLING skills results in additional Sales

 Suggestive SELLS and Samples short-coded product

 Communicates code dating issues

 Communicates Shrink opportunities

 Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink

 Utilizes appropriate supplies to reduce costs

4. Planning Focus –

 Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift

 Plans work duties appropriately during scheduled shift to accomplish all assigned tasks

 Identifies department opportunities during scheduled shift and responds accordingly

Functional Requirements:

 Product Skills – general knowledge of all product in Produce/Floral department

 Process Skills – demonstrated understanding of all Produce/Floral functions

 Physical Skills – Frequent - ability to lift/carry 10 to 52 lbs., lifting 20 to 60 lbs., push/pull 200 to 2000 lbs., turning, standing, reaching, bending/stooping, walking climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reading, . Use of knives, pallet jack, fork lift, box cutter, floral chopper, scales, wrapper, compactor, flatbed, carts, pricing gun, marker, mop, cleaning utensils, coring machine, plastic wrapper, ladders, telephone, calculator, scissors, under-water flower cutter, wire cutter, watering can, plant hook, rack, stem cutter, broom, mop.

 Physical Skills – Occasional – lifting/carrying , more than 52 lbs., pushing/pulling 150 to 500 lbs.

 Education or Experience – Minimum High school education or currently enrolled

 Environmental – Exposure to colder temperatures (35 to 40 degrees), occasionally work outdoors
