Lockheed Martin Space in Lone Tree, CO is seeking a full-time Early Career Materials Engineer. In this role, you will work on a broad range of projects, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, analysts, project engineers, and other M&P engineers you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to drive innovation in Material Data Management tools, Material properties simulations and digital certification of M&P and the implementation of Modern M&P digital tools.

Tasks include:
  • Develop Material Center Database capability, update material schemas, and perform data maintenance in the database.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the engineering design/analysis tools and be able to recommend and evaluate tool enhancements.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), designers and analysts upload, review and approve material test data.
  • Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions in M&P
  • Support SMEs and Material Center Database users with recommended solutions to data issues
  • Coordinate, organize, and work on projects to support engineering design & analysis in PMP selection
  • Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments

The successful candidate will have experience and/or
knowledge of Materials or process related background. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline from an accredited college.
  • Materials or process related background and/or field of study
  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
  • Database administration experience
  • Knowledge of environmental and operational requirements for materials in space and missile applications (outgassing, flammability, dissimilar metals, stress corrosion, etc.)
  • Familiar with using business tools and systems for configuration management and quality control (e.g. SAP, EPDM, PMPDB, LIMS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $55,300 - $106,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
