Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM

Position Summary:
This full-time staff position reports to the Director of Program Development and works in close conjunction with all Club Directors. The Math Coordinator provides math experiences with an emphasis on working with elementary and middle school grade members. BGCMs’ attend a variety of school districts (Omaha Public, Millard Public Schools, Westside Public Schools and Council Bluffs Public Schools.

- Follow Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Program Basics guidelines and resources to create lesson plans and activities utilizing the STAR Math software.
- Provide direct instruction in an environment that furthers the members’ interests in math and to support increased engagement in math.
- Communicate with directors, staff, members and parents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Broad knowledge of elementary and middle school education goals and objectives
- Strong academic background, particularly in mathematics, language arts, and writing.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to interact successfully with members and parents
- Ability to identify and implement programming options.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts presentations to BGCM staff and parents on the math program and its anticipated outcomes
- Serves as the main information source and point of contact for the math program data and reports
- Conducts professional development trainings (emphasis on delivering quality math activities
- Tracks attendance and participation in the math program at the Clubs and plans retention efforts toward designated program goals
- Develops curriculum for the program, facilitates program sessions and manages materials
- Distributes and compiles post program evaluations and other program information
- Plans and implements recognition and incentive special gatherings and events
- Oversee budget for programming and authorize purchases through approved process
- Reports program information
- Maintains accurate data entry of all participant information.
- Recommend materials to aid instruction.
- Help Club Staff diagnose member’s math strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
- Oversee the implementation and ensure the fidelity of the Math component in the STAR Reading software across the Clubs.
- Assist the Club Staff in implementing the Math Program.

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Flexible schedule required
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends required
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and database management required
- Reliable transportation required
