Job Summary:

This opportunity would ideally suit a Thermal/Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise and background in designing & developing thermally challenging products. You will be responsible for designing high end thermal solutions for rugged single board computers, other electronic devices, and systems to be used in conduction and convection cooled environments with the opportunity for future personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate rugged electronics for use in military and aerospace applications
  • Determine design approaches and parameters
  • Model components and systems and create detailed drawing packages for fabrication
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis
  • Support vibration, shock, and thermal testing
  • Support prototype and first article builds
  • Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product/component performance to customer specifications and to appropriate standards
  
  

Desired Qualifications/Characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university or college
• Mechanical design experience through co-op or internship
• Highly motivated with the ability to make decisions and solve problems with little supervision
• Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Thermal and flow analysis experience
• Experience performing structural analysis
• Understanding of materials and processes used in rugged electronic packaging
• Familiarity with dynamic and thermal testing
• Ability to work effectively in teams and achieve design and schedule targets while managing design constraints
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• 2+ years professional experience
