Mechanics Helper Job at Stillwater Transportation
The Mechanics Helper will assist mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs on fleet trucks and trailers
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Helps mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes, check and change tires and brakes, fix and repair air system parts and engage in other similar tasks
- Assist mechanic with electrical systems such as batteries, starters and lights
- Clean shop and return tools to proper location
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment
- Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order
- Updates maintenance and repair logs for vehicles
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of truck repair
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Ability to follow instruction
- Problem-solving skills
- Uses time efficiently
- Self motivated
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Related experience preferred
