This is a new position with some flexibility in job duties, but it would encompass some functions of a medical assistant (no certification required) and some functions of an administrative assistant. There would be some opportunities for direct patient care that is appropriate for an unlicensed individual, such as newborn hearing screening, and possible training in phlebotomy if interested. It would include answering phones and assisting clients, assisting with lab specimen prep as needed from time to time, covering front desk as needed, and assisting with referrals and records transmission. It would also entail assisting the administrator with everything from marketing projects to financial reporting tasks, insurance credentialing, and many other things.

This is a great opportunity for someone who may have no prior experience in a medical office to transition into health care. We would encourage anyone interested in medical assisting to apply, but bearing in mind that this position would also encompass administrative and marketing functions. CMAs are also welcome to apply provided that they are not seeking a position that is direct-patient-care-intensive.

Schedule can be flexible across weekdays between 8-6, and full-time opportunities (with more benefits) do exist if the fit is good.
