We are looking to hire a medical assistant part time. The shift would be from 8am-5pm on mondays only. Assists physicians and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties. Attends to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinates and organizes appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and supports delivery of quality patient care.

General Accountabilities

• Answers multi-line phones and either directs the caller to the appropriate party or handles the callers needs
• Rooming patients and assisting with patient care
• Assists the doctors with Surgical Pre-Op and Post Op appointment
• Cleans and sterilizes all medical equipment and instruments
• Collects co-pays and payments
• Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area
• Completes FMLA paperwork
• Completes Orthotics Benefit Checks
• Completes other clerical duties as assigned
• Enters demographic, HIPAA, billing and insurance information into patient charts
• Maintains and manages patient records
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Prior Authorizations for MRI’s, CT’s and prescriptions
• Proficiently uses Collaborate billing software to look up billing information and answer patient questions Proficiently uses Practice Fusion (EMR)
• Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
• Provides patients with new patient forms as well as copies of our office polices and legally required documents
• Releases patient records
• Scans and saves all OP reports in patient charts on a weekly
• Schedules appointments for new and recurring patients based on physician availability
• Verification of insurance benefits for orthotics
