Medical Assistant position in busy Pediatric office. Candidate must be able to multi task in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should possess knowledge in all aspects of medical assisting including the clinical and clerical areas needed to assist in the delivery of quality health care and patient care management. Knowledge of electronic medical records preferred. Will be required to travel between two locations - Westfield and West Springfield.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB

• Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Sets up exam rooms and instruments for minor procedures.
• Administers injections and vaccinations according to established protocols.
• May involve scheduling of lab or diagnostic testing, and prior authorizations.
• If instructed by provider performs laboratory procedures including hematocrit, rapid strep screen, hem-occult, urinalysis, glucose, mono, and pregnancy tests. Performs tests according to manufacturer and runs controls as necessary.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality .
• Must maintain good and reliable attendance

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program, RMA or CMA preferred. Skill in operating a computer as well as various diagnostic and therapeutic machines. Skill in greeting patients and interacting in a warm, compassionate and professional manner. Skill in addressing patients over the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to prioritize and organize work. Ability to establish and maintain quality standards in patient care practices . Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, fellow employees, physicians and the public. Epic software experience and Pediatric experience preferred.
