Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to work alongside our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care in the beautiful city of Kernersville, North Carolina. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing various clinical and administrative duties that ensure our healthcare practice runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and check-in patients and update their medical records as required

- Review patient medical history and vital signs, and document them in the EMR system

- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, procedures and treatments

- Perform basic laboratory tests, and collect and prepare specimens for lab testing

- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician

- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits

- Answer patient calls, relay messages, and communicate with care providers and pharmacies

- Verify patient insurance information, and assist with the insurance authorization process

- Maintain and order medical supplies and equipment as needed

- Adhere to infection control policies and guidelines

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED

- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred

- Minimum of 1-year experience in a healthcare setting

- Understanding of medical terminology and medical procedures

- Knowledge of EMR and medical record-keeping practices

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Must be able to multitask and prioritize work effectively
