Medical Assistant PT nights and/or weekends Job at Natow, Rosenberg & Pion MD PC

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree.
- Experience in a medical office working as a medical assistant perferred.

- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times.
- Interviews patients to obtain history, family history, and history of allergies and medications and records information on patients’ charts.
- Prepares treatment room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate physicians needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely.
- Assists physician with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, etc.
- Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
- Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits.
- Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as required by physician. Document requisition forms and specimens for laboratory pick-ups. Call Labs for outstanding tests. Fax results to referring physicians.
- Answers telephone inquiries from patients, their families, or primary care physicians regarding treatment, surgery or related concerns.
- Call in prescriptions and pre-authorizations.
- Notifies management when medical or cosmetic supplies are low to avoid shortages.
- Stocks all exam rooms.
Spanish speaking a plus.
Overtime is paid at time and a half.
2 weeks vacation time, 1 week sick time, holiday pay and uniforms provided. Medical benefits available.
