About the role:

You will support activities to enhance training of the BioLife medical teams and assure training is following Federal Regulations and BioLife SOPs. You will also support Medical Affairs to assure safety of the plasmapheresis donors and collection of quality plasma products. As a Medical Information Specialist based in our Bannockburn, IL office, you will report to the Head of BioLife Medical Affairs.

How you will contribute:

  • Investigate and respond to plasma donor eligibility questions submitted by the plasma centers. (40%)

  • Help with revision of Medical Affairs SOPs and Medical Affairs Guidance (MAG) documents. (20%)

  • Support new and ongoing projects for the Medical Support Specialists and Center Physician training program

  • Lead activities to help maintain the launch of new resource tools, including the Medical Affairs’ SharePoint site

  • Help investigate medical issues associated with post-donation information/lookback

  • Support other BPS departments such as Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

  • Interacts on a daily basis with plasma center employees by phone and written communication and with Headquarter employees

  • Ensure that all medical/technical activities are performed following Federal and foreign regulatory guidance (e.g., FDA, EMA).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree, Nursing, LPN, RN or Physician Assistant

  • 2+ years of healthcare experience in a clinical setting

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in plasmapheresis program or other apheresis programs

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer systems, including Windows applications
