Position Summary:
Performs a full range of clinical laboratory tests (in such areas as hematology, chemistry, immunology, blood bank, microbiology, and coagulation). Will have diverse responsibilities in areas of analysis and clinical decision-making, information management, regulatory compliance, education, and quality assurance/ performance improvement.

Position Duties (Not All Inclusive):
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
  • Participates in inventory control to ensure appropriate levels of supplies within the department. Recognizes day-to-day inventory needs and communicates appropriately.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow established protocol and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Performs all work in accordance with the requirements of regulatory agencies, such as CLIA, JCAHO, AABB, and other agencies based on local and national regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizes all supplies and equipment in an appropriate and cost-effective, efficient manner.
  • Accurately performs tests on patient and proficiency specimens.

Qualifications:
  • Required: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
  • MT Required: Graduation from a Medical Technology program approved by a nationally recognized body OR documented equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • MLT Required: Graduation from a Medical Technology Program approved by a nationally recognized body OR documented equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Preferred: A registry from a recognized National Laboratory organization is preferred but not required.
