POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Coordinator intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with and follows the direction of the Membership Director to ensure exceptional delivery of programs and services to members and participants.
  • Effectively plans and executes strategies that support member retention and engagement; ensuring that membership retention goals are met. Fosters a climate of innovation.
  • Promotes program and membership enrollment. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in, and web registration.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, and training of member services, child watch, and housekeeping staff.
  • Oversees the scheduling, payroll, development and supervision of member services, child watch, and housekeeping
  • Leads and develops staff to create a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Responsible for some administrative duties and reporting around membership data, finances, renewals, terminations and data clean up.
  • Responsible for keeping up with inventory for Child Watch, Member Services and Housekeeping supplies and ordering for each department.
  • Assists with annual campaign and articulates to members/community to increase awareness and participation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to use a computer/smart device. Must be able to move around the work environment and lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
