Mission Community Outreach Program assistant Job at AmeriCorps
The AmeriCorps member will support and assist with all outreach programs including being a lead for our School Shoes for Kids event in August. Member will assist with volunteers as well as with daily operations of our programs. Our School Shoes for Kids Event will take place again this August and the AmeriCorps member will help lead this event from the planning stages through the event day. At this event we give out between 1500-2000 new pair of shoes and socks to kids going back to school. It is the largest event we host each year and we are always looking for ideas on how to improve it. Every part of this job will be focused on helping our community and bettering our programs for our guests.
Member Duties : • Maintain accurate and timely reports and timecards. • Programs focus on providing clothing, hygiene items, houseware items and diapers to families and individuals in need. • Daily tasks will involve stocking items, picking up and organizing donations, promoting program information on our social media platforms, working with and recruiting volunteers, and some office work. • Member will plan and develop our School Shoes for Kids event in August, which is when we give out about 2000 new pairs of shoes to kids in our community. • Member will work with volunteers and guests during open shopping hours and will help keep the program running throughout the week. • Volunteer management, outreach, content creation and working with the team to improve our programs are also included in this position. • This position requires someone who is flexible, great at working independently and someone that has a heart for serving their community. • All other duties as assigned
