Position Overview / Description:
We are seeking an experienced individual to join Motorsports Business Operations in Ford Performance. Business Operations supports the entire Motorsports team including Competition, Engineering and Marketing. Business Operations support spans across all of our participating race series which includes NASCAR, NHRA, WRC, Sportscar, Supercar, F1 and Off-Road Racing. This is a very dynamic, fast-paced, and unique position that incorporates a broad range of responsibilities with exposure to cross-functional management. We are looking for an Operations Specialist to manage aspects of Motorsports’ daily operations and Customer Racing programs. The Operations Specialist's responsibilities include managing part orders, ensuring supplier are correctly invoiced and payments are received, optimizing processes, collaborating with the team, and liaising with external stakeholders.
To be successful as an operations specialist, you should be committed to improving processes, maintaining organization and able to ensure accuracy. Ultimately, a top-notch operations specialist should have excellent organizational, people management, and problem-solving skills.
This is a hybrid position, both onsite and remote, the onsite location is located in Allen Park, MI with the opportunity to work remotely.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in Program/Project Management, Product Development and/or Logistics.
- Able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment that requires quick turn-around.
- Detailed, Self-Organized and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient using Excel, Outlook, Word and the suite of Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong problem-solving, time management skills and the ability to improve processes.
- Must be familiar with an assortment of vehicle components.
- Strong people management skills, excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility of schedule to support the team; willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
- Able to lift at least 30lbs safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology degree, technical or automotive discipline
- High degree of self-motivation and willingness to commit extra effort to always "get the job done"
- Candidate must be comfortable in speaking and working with Chief / Director level management team
- Prior experience in the motorsports industry and a passion for performance products

What You Will Do:
- Operations support for all of the Motorsports programs.
- Lead interface with multiple Ford internal suppliers (Dearborn Engine, Livonia Transmission, Sterling axle, Essex Engine, Cleveland Engine, EMDO).
- Create orders for any production hardware for any Motorsports program: vehicle production, engine assembly and service/support part purchases.
- Lead interface with production suppliers and purchasing with some external suppliers.
- Ensure primary production parts ship directly to project partners; support legacy part order planning.
- Create special orders, as necessary, to support customers and ship worldwide.
- Lead shipping coordination and logistics, create documentation, package parts from production dunnage to individual packaging and commercial invoicing both domestic and international.
- Invoice suppliers for orders received; Track and recover accounts payable and receivable.
- Receive technical support from Motorsports functional teams.
- Maintain accurate department part spending summary across all programs (GPIRS, PO, etc.)
- Maintain up to date order status, timing and costs to report out to program and technical managers.
- Support Motorsports overall spending summary and monthly budget reviews.
- Support Finance reviews, monthly Forecast updates, quarterly CaR submissions and add’l reviews as needed.
- Support department purchase orders issues and supplier invoicing issues as necessary.
