Waple and Houk is a personal injury and family law firm located in the Dilworth area. We are currently looking for a North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to become a valued member of our firm. As a growing law firm, we’re in the position to begin building a team of employees who share our vision for the future. While we will pride ourselves on prioritizing the needs of our clients, we do not want it to be at the expense of our staff.

We’re looking for a candidate who is hardworking, detail oriented, personable, and a team player. As a North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Paralegal, this position requires an understanding of the legal process involved in handling a Workers’ Compensation claim from start to finish.

Ideal Candidates would possess the following:

• Experience preparing and filing documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, letters and memorandums for workers compensation files.
• Experience obtaining and compiling medical records for proper evaluation of a client’s case.
• Experience coordinating attorney’s calendar including scheduling appointments, court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
• The ability to work closely with clients in obtaining documents and information needed to comply with court requirements, including discovery responses.
• Prior experience utilizing case management software and additional programs like Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams, preferred.
• Prepare case settlements and execution of settlement documents with clients.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, certificate, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, or other injury related practice areas preferred.
• At least 2 years of working experience as a paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
• Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred

We’re looking for a candidate who possesses strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills while retaining the ability to work as a team and in the best interest of the client. The chosen candidate will need to be self-motivated and able to independently identify problems when or before they arise while seeing the problem through to resolution.

$40,000 to $65,000, depending on experience
