For individuals assigned or hired to work in Jersey City, New York City, and/ or Westchester County, the base salary range is $148,614 to $201,066 as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
Total individual compensation (base salary, short and long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability and specialization, as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.

Primarily responsible for the driving Network automation leveraging IaC, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to deliver reliable network stacks. The network automation engineer ensures all supported systems are designed and engineered effectively leveraging well architected framework and best practices. The network automation engineer is a critical cross-domain expert driving network reliability, automation, security, and optimization in the network space.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drives automation, often through infrastructure-as-code leveraging with DevSecOps platforms and practices.
- The incumbent works towards the overall goals and objectives of the business, determines the functionality required to meet those needs and manages resources accordingly
- Evaluate, Acquire, Manage, maintain, and mature the DevSecOps and network Automation practices for the organization
- Working with EA, the Automation Engineer designs the network strategy and solution recommendations applied to modern network engineering supporting the development of teams and business. While adopting new technologies at Arch, the Automation engineer will often build a prototype and help educate teams to accelerate adoption of automation services
- Work closely with the engineering, architecture, and development teams to combine software and systems engineering to build and run cloud-native, DevOps delivered, highly scalable and fault tolerant network services.
- The Automation Engineer works with SRE, engineering teams and operations team to automate repetitive tasks and harness monitoring and predictive alerting opportunities, identifying key measures and ensures adequate actionable metrics from them.
- Candidates must be able to work in a strong team environment to support the design, development, testing and documentation
- Candidates will conduct research on emerging technologies in support of network development efforts
- Work with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to regularly evaluate Automation techniques to ensure adherence to Governance, Compliance & Security standards
- Provides guidance to engineering and operations teams on enabling and managing end to end availability and performance of mission critical services through automation.
- Builds and strengthens relationship and partnership with corporate infrastructure leads and teams
- 5+ years’ experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise and global scale
- Validated knowledge of network technologies through achievement of Cisco CCDE, CCNP and other professional certifications
- Knowledge of networking infrastructure suppliers and service offerings including; Cisco, Silverpeak, F5 Networks, Citrix Netscalers, PaloAlto, Checkpoint, British Telecom, Verizon and VMware
- Firewalls/IPS, load balancers, and WAN optimization (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, ISE, ACI, Citrix Netscalers, F5 )
- Networking Protocols, design and products: Ethernet, IP, switching, routing, spanning tree, OTV, LISP, FabricPath, etc. (Cisco, Brocade)
- Cisco: Nexus Spine & Leaf architectures, UCS, Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), SD-WAN, Wireless
- Ability to multi-task, meet project-specific deadlines, work in a team, and produce results independently
- Strong working knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources
- Experience in network automation techniques using terraform, Ansible or python.
- Good understanding of the DevOps framework
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience
- Exceptional Customer and End User Experience focus
- Demonstrated ability to establish relationship and build rapport to influence colleagues at all levels, uncover business issues, and identify needs
- Knowledge of disaster recovery best practices including planning and testing
- Experience working in a hybrid on/offshore model
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or 10 years equivalent work experience across network routing & switching, network security and software engineering roles.
