In this individual contributor role, you’ll use your knowledge and analytical skills to help determine how clinical providers group up by specialty and service line. The Network Program Manager has an internally facing role working with business partners across our organization. UnitedHealthcare is undertaking a major change to build trusting, collaborative relationships with health care providers. The Market Aligned Operating Model (MAOM) is a new and distinctive operating model that delivers focus and operational expertise at the market and regional level. We are empowering providers to practice the best medicine. With input from providers, our teams are defining new opportunities to implement. In addition to ongoing administrative simplification work, our operations teams are mapping a path to lead the industry in revenue cycle time. This is a remote position, working on our UnitedHealthcare Networks (UHN) Operations team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive program design and implementation of new UHN initiatives, including reporting
  • UHN Operational Efficiencies - develop and implement strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Assess emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
  • Participate in the development of business strategy, and drafting of business planning documents, MBO performance metrics, etc.
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
  • Oversee Network Program Consultant on various projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in health care operations (e.g., claims/billing, contracting or contract loading, clinical operations), including working with health care clinical and claims data
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management or proven large-project lead experience
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel (must have experience working with and creating pivot tables)
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with other MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience (management/supervisory, or team lead experience)
  • Project management experience within a health care setting (Optum, UHC product, etc.)
  • Business experience working within a health care clinic setting (e.g., business office, revenue cycle management)
  • Logic reasoning, good independent judgment
  • Articulate, assertive and persuasive with the ability to adapt communication style and approach to audience
  • Proven ability to develop non-standard solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analysis, including trends and opportunities, to stakeholders
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including balancing multiple priorities and addressing conflicting and/or data inaccuracies
  • Solid planning, organizing and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct workload based on organizational priorities and objectives
  • Ability to build solid business relationships cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to work across a matrix organization to identify non-standard solutions to complex problems and business needs, including but not limited to, gathering business requirements and/or documenting user stories

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
