Job Summary
Provides departmental administrative and operational support to noncontract and contract Employees in the NOC. Responsible for handling NOC scheduling needs to ensure that Dispatch staffing levels are sufficient to maintain a safe and efficient SWA Operation.
Responsibilities
Conduct annual schedule and vacation bidding process for TWU 550
Plan, produce and maintain annual, monthly, and daily schedules for all Dispatchers in the Company's scheduling system
Prepare, analyze, and audit SWA NOC Contract and Non-Contract Employee's hours prior to payroll close
Handle NOC scheduling needs, and work with the responsible NOC Leadership to ensure that staffing levels are sufficient to maintain a safe and efficient SWA Operation
Execute and resolve complex operational tasks in a timely manner
Ensure NOC and Dispatch personnel are scheduled to meet operational demands and contractual requirements
Assist NOC Leadership to ensure scheduling compliance with applicable policies and FAA regulations
Administer daily overtime callout for Dispatchers according to the TWU 550 Collective Bargaining Agreement
Ensure compliance with TWU 550 Collective Bargaining Agreement rules
Utilize the SWA NOC Payroll System, Ascent WorkZone
Provide timely communication to department Employees on scheduling matters, including timely and accurate notification of Dispatchers regarding assignments
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of collective bargaining agreement between Southwest Airlines and TWU 550 for the purposes of scheduling and pay for Southwest Airlines Dispatchers and Meteorologists
Knowledge of regulatory requirements of all Dispatcher job categories required
Skilled in computer analysis and common business software applications, as well as be able to learn and effectively use a variety of other software tools and applications
Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions
Ability to work in a stressful environment and under emergency situations within tight time constraints
Ability to inspire confidence among Employees, Peers, Leadership, and throughout internal and external organizations
Ability to analyze, handle & resolve complex project issues, make sound decisions and be able to interface well with People at all levels within the Company
Ability to work within regulatory constraints
Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and late nights as operationally needed Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
Customer Service related experience
Microsoft Office Suite, including: strong Excel experience (pivot tables, conditional formatting, macros, etc.)
Fast paced, multi variable influenced, critical thinking position
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $54,350 per year to $60,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the
discretion of the company.
