Nurse Practitioner - Plastic Surgery Job at UCLA Health
The NP will serve as a member of the medical care management team and be responsible for providing independent clinical assessment and patient care management services for Plastic Surgery patients across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient settings, including global health settings as appropriate. Responsibilities include performing history and physical examinations, triaging patients and accurately evaluating their vital signs, symptoms, and assessment findings. Additional functions include assisting in the operating room, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, and setting up equipment and imaging modalities before and during surgical procedures. The NP will communicate with patients, families, and referring physicians and will serve as a clinical care extender of attending Plastic Surgeons. The NP will coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care. The NP will also participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support to members of the patient care team, as well as make appropriate referrals. . They will also act as liaison between administrators, nursing staff, residents, and physicians to provide efficient, effective, consistent,and compassionate patient care. All activities will be governed by an appreciation of and respect for diversity in all whom they encounter. (This is one APP position that will be filled as ether as a NP or PA (ref #2490)) Salary range: $80.78-$115.37/hourly
* MSN/DNP in Adult Acute Care NP Specialty- required * CA RN and CA License -required * National Certification in NP specialty- required * BLS certification from AHA or ARC- required * Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required * Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required * Ability to set priorities-required * Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required * Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required * Experience specific for each JD - see below: * Experience working with plastic surgery patients in the inpatient setting, emergency room, operating room, and outpatient setting - required * Ability to assess and act on psychosocial needs of patients with craniofacial differences -required
