DAY-TO-DAY

This nurse position in human services works the day shift during business hours.

As a Nursing Specialist - LPN - RN in human services, you're responsible for overseeing the wellness of our students, which includes medication distribution, Covid-19 screenings, staff medical in-services, maintaining student files, and intake paperwork. You help coordinate and deliver all nursing care procedures and related healthcare activities for your assigned programs. As needed, you maintain proper documentation and provide reports for important tasks such as administering medication, treatment, and assessments.

Additionally, you implement quality assurance and oversight of medication administration and nursing activities. You also maintain medical and first aid supplies as well as adequate medications, ensuring everything is properly labeled and stored in a safe and orderly area. When necessary, you triage and respond with emergency medical care until EMS personnel arrive. You prepare incident reports and make sure all appropriate parties are notified.

You also help train and supervise other staff regarding health safety and personal care procedures. As needed, you participate in meetings as well as maintain the cleanliness and safety of our program areas. You're quick to provide on-call emergency coverage as required and stay up to date on all licenses and certifications. REQUIREMENTS FOR A NURSING SPECIALIST - LPN - RN

• Associate degree in nursing
• Licensed practical nurse (LPN) with a current NYS LPN OR RN license
• 3+ years of experience working with children
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Covid-19 vaccination
