Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy program approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association and Engaged in the required supervised clinical experience period prerequisite to registration by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Licensure: Current Texas State License to practice occupational therapy

Salary: Therapist must commensurate with education, experience and ability.

Job Summary: An Occupational Therapist who provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups.

Essential Functions:

· Provides evaluation of the patient's level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures.

· Guides the patient in his use of therapeutic creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function.

· Observes records and reports the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.

· Applies concepts of infection control and universal precautions in performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.

· Documents all patient interviews, evaluation, plan of care and treatments performed as well as the patient’s action and reaction to occupational therapy intervention.

· Performs and oversees other team members, when applicable, in the performance of patient care that is consistent with patient’s needs and desires.

· Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the organization/ agency/licensing board.

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff and patients are required to wear a mask while in the presence of others when social distancing is not an option. Telehealth appointments are being offered. All surfaces are continuously sanitized throughout the day.
