For 30 years, School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County has offered low-cost, high-quality medical services to low-income families. Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable primary medical care for the low-income community. Research has shown that providing low-income and minority students with healthcare and health education gives kids a chance to stay in school and perform better academically. Although we began as pediatric clinics, we now extend our services to adults. No one is ever turned away due to their inability to pay. All five clinics are located on school grounds in Santa Clara County, right in the neighborhoods where our patients live. Our staff is bilingual and multicultural so our patients can easily understand the medical advice that is given and are not intimidated because of a language barrier.

We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support and work with all levels of management. Sensitivity to confidential information is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with executives
  • Coordinate staff meetings/offsite activities
  • Maintain provider credentialing and employee files
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
  • Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings
  • Answer phones and greet visitors
  • Conduct routine administrative duties as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of receptionist and/or administrative experience in a professional office setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers on the phone and in person.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
