KES is looking for an Operations Engineering Technician to join the team in Tulsa, OK at their R&D Test Center!

Our Team

As a key role in the Test Center Operations Team, this position is responsible for ensuring excellence in the design and execution of operations projects. These operations projects can include the setup and planning of customer demonstrations and R&D projects, facility maintenance/improvement projects, general estimating, and oversite of drawing preparation for facility projects. The individual will be expected to take ownership of their assigned projects in all aspects including design, schedule, budget, safety, quality, etc. with the support of other project disciplines (i.e. I&C engineering, structural engineering, QA/QC, EH&S, and drafting). This is a great opportunity to be part of an operative team and gain experience with a well-established and growing manufacturing and test facility.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with the drafting and design team to review of all test mounting plates and duct work.

• Proactively work with test center personnel to assist when support is needed on test setups and while troubleshooting issues during the testing.
• Provide oversite of test set-up activities for assigned projects to ensure work is done correctly and necessary manpower is allocated to meet schedule.
• Participate in EHS reviews to ensure projects are setup and installed properly.
• Ensure PHA’s and MOC’s are performed for assigned projects and actions items are completed within assigned time periods.
• Prepare and review cost estimations for combustion demonstration testing and internal R&D testing.
• Development and management of facility, maintenance, or reliability projects.
• Assist with equipment operation during mechanical setup and/or testing of customer demonstrations if needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Knowledge of and the ability to read P&IDs, mechanical equipment specification sheets, fabrication details, etc.

• Basic Understanding of Management of Change (MOC)/Hazardous Operation (HAZOP) / Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) equipment design review.
• Experience with setup and testing of process burners, flares, thermal oxidizers, or other combustion equipment.
• Ability to work 10-hour daily shifts as well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime when required.
• Experience in the proactive application of safe work practices.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with process instrumentation and automation

• Pipe fitting and related experience/knowledge.
• Basic knowledge or experience with drafting software like AutoCAD
• Software skills in applications like Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Access, and Office Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
