Job Summary

Directs and coordinates activities related to production and delivery of aggregates products, including safety, compliance, sales, customer service and quality control.


Main Responsibilities

  • Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
  • Hire, train, and develop employees to perform at their highest level
  • Develop and support positive customer relationships to drive aggregate sales; perform regular customer visits to promote sales/service, and collect on accounts
  • Work with the quality control team to meet customer demand and manage production and dispatch of materials meeting required specifications
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for assigned plant sites; forecast raw materials needs and implement operational plans to minimize production cost
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and production efficiency
  • Set and manage production schedules and priorities; monitor delivery schedules and timing to ensure efficient fleet utilization
  • Compile, maintain, and present production and financial data and analysis to management
  • Monitor inventory, and work with plant teams to control loss and product contamination
  • Establish and implement key performance indicators and utilize them to manage assigned sites
  • Implement effective maintenance practices and planning to reduce down-time; monitor maintenance needs and scheduling with internal shops and outside services to maintain equipment and trucks
  • Monitor housekeeping of plants to ensure plant sites are clean and organized

Education

  • Degree in mining, manufacturing, civil or related engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required, commercial license a plus

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years prior experience in ready-mix, aggregates, asphalt production, delivery, sales, and services preferred
  • 3-5 years prior experience leading and developing people
  • Knowledge of rules/regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including OSHA/MSHA, DEQ, and DOT applicable to position
  • Experience managing budgets and performing basic financial analysis preferred
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance
  • Ability to lead and motivate others; proven experience effectively managing and leading teams
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines
  • Proficiency with computers/mobile devices, including use of basic MS Office and similar programs and applications

Physical Requirements

  • Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), as required by company safety guidelines
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing (hear, talk, read, type, write)
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to Stand/work on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Regularly required to work from a seated position for long periods using a computer
  • Frequent exposure to typical production plant/aggregate site conditions, including dust and loud noise, heavy equipment/machinery, loud noise, and all-weather conditions
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from home may be required

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation*: $100,000-$125,000 annually DOE


  • Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
