OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT / TECH / OPHTHALMIC SCRIBE
Full time position for Ophthalmic Assistants to work in the field of Retinal Diseases & Surgery
Medical assisting education or experience is minimally required for those that do not have ophthalmic education or experience.
WE WILL TRAIN our subspecialty of RETINA to the right candidate!
* Clinical responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to:
- ocular and medical history, vision screening (no refraction), pressure & other ocular work-up,
- diagnostic testing, OCT, and other imaging (we will train)
- possible scribing with our physicians
- phlebotomy skills are a plus, but not necessary
- appointment & surgical scheduling, when scribing,
- instrument care,
- medication inventory
- minimal clerical duties as assigned.
- Hourly wage will be commensurate with ophthalmic experience/education.
Other Requirements********
- Excellent keyboarding skills.
- Must be proficient and efficient.
- Must show energy and initiative.
- Reasonable multi-tasking.
- CPR certification is required!
- Travel may be needed to another nearby office for occasional vacation and sick coverage issues, so reliable transportation is required.
- Work hours vary slightly, may start early and may be adjusted for your similar schedule for the right candidate.
- No scheduled weekends at this time.
