As an Optometric Technician at Petrou Eye Care, you’ll help our patients experience life with great vision! You play an essential role by providing direct support to our optometrist, preparing patients for their doctor visit by performing pre-screenings and answering questions. You’ll direct patient flow, keeping the schedule running efficiently and effectively. Chart preparation and visit documentation are a must in assisting Dr. Petrou.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preliminary testing
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training, learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to or during their visit with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for patients
• Collaborate with doctor and team members to provide seamless patient experience
• Chart preparation
• Documentation of visit notes, entered into EHR for Dr. Petrou’s approval

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math
• Someone who is personable, patient and has the ability to comfort patients during screening process
• Someone who is detailed oriented and who will work closely with our Optometrist
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services
• Collaborative team player that will provide the best patient experience
