Georgia-Pacific’s Corrugated Packaging division is looking for a Sales Representative to support our corrugated packaging business in Michigan.
Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Outside Sales Representative supporting our corrugated box plant located in Owosso and Milan, Michigan. In this role you will start with a competitive salary eligible for a semi-annual bonus and transition to fully commissioned compensation. A successful Sales Representative will have a demonstrated track record of sustained and profitable sales growth in the industrial, produce, e-commerce, distribution, or manufacturing market with a focus on new business development, margin analysis, value creation and general market awareness.
This role is a home-based position with 50% travel in market with little overnight travel anticipated. The ideal candidate will reside within 100 miles of Owosso, Michigan or Milan, Michigan. This position reports to the Area Sales Manager.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Daily demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset and managing your territory like it’s your own business with the primary focus on new business development; determining potential opportunities from prospecting, networking, marketing leads, and other sources
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships and actively seek opportunities resulting in growth
- Responsible for identifying industry trends and market analysis; analyze customer forecast, demands and ordering patterns, reviewing cost models, and interacting with operations teams both internally and externally
- Proactively manage customer projects to ensure customer needs are understood and met, including facilitating product development activities, coordinating production trials and press checks
- You will have exposure/work cross collaboratively with GP capabilities and act as the liaison between your customers and GP customer service, quality, design, production, accounting, shipping, marketing etc.
- Within new business development you will spend time focusing on prospecting by utilizing tools such as LinkedIn Navigator, CRM Dynamics and working with the Salesforce Effectiveness team to build and maintain an effective strategic pipeline of prospects
- Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and CRM Microsoft Dynamics
- Maintain a CRM sales pipeline tool, manage a monthly forecast, create account profiles, create competitive profiles and market dynamics, develop account strategies, analyze pricing data, etc.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- 2 - 3 years of outside selling experience
- Experience in prospecting, business planning, consulting, and territory financial analysis
- Experience meeting sales objectives/goals in an outside sales position
- Willing to travel 50% in the territory with occasional overnight travel
- Valid U.S. Driver’s license
What Will Put You Ahead
- Corrugated sales experience
- Prior Industrial and/or produce sales experience
- Prior E-commerce sales experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
